BETTER TOGETHER – CDC and PCCY Amalgamate

The Board of Directors of the Lake of the Woods Child Development (CDC) and the Board of Directors of the Patricia Centre for Children and Youth (PCCY) are pleased to announce that the two agencies will become one effective April 1, 2011. 

The amalgamated organization will be known as FIREFLY.

After 33 years with CDC Executive Director Barb Penner is retiring and Karen Ingebrigtson Executive Director of PCCY will become the new CEO of the amalgamated organization.

Bill Limerick, President of the Board of CDC said that “the organizations are coming together to provide improved service for clients through a merger of programs, resources and talents. This amalgamation will support greater flexibility to meet the unique needs of the communities we serve.”

Jackie Mitchell, President of the Board of PCCY noted that “Firefly emerges from serving children, families and communities for more than 30 years. We thank communities, partnering agencies and federal and provincial funders for their help and support over these years. FIREFLY is committed to maintaining the highest quality of services.”
