Out of Home Respite
About the Program
Integrated Services Northwest (ISN) Access provides Intake and Service Coordination for the Planned Out-of-Home Respite program.
The mandate of the Planned Out-of-Home Respite program is to support families with children who have high, multiple, special needs by providing funding for the family to hire a respite worker to care for their child outside of the family home.
Respite can be provided in many different environments such as the respite provider’s home or community activities.
The Planned Out-of-Home Respite Program enables families to rest, attend to personal needs, or participate in outside activities. If offers stress relief for parents.
The parents are responsible for selecting a respite care worker.
Why Families Use this Service
- Respite support is creative and flexible and responds to the individual needs of the child and family.
- This program offers the child a chance to develop social, recreational and life skills.
